Product Overview

Breezaire WKL Series Cooling Units are compact, self-contained wine cellar cooling systems built for reliable through-the-wall installation. The WKL 4000 is designed to cool wine cellars up to 1,000 cubic feet while helping maintain the temperature and humidity conditions needed for proper wine preservation.

This unit vents warm air into an adjacent room and is intended for properly constructed wine cellars with adequate insulation and vapor barrier protection.

Installation Warning: Before installation, make sure the cellar is properly insulated and sealed. The room receiving exhaust air must be the same size or larger than the wine cellar to prevent heat buildup and reduced cooling performance.

Key Benefits of the Breezaire WKL 4000

Stable Wine Storage Temperatures

The adjustable thermostat helps maintain the ideal wine storage temperature range of 50°F to 60°F.

Vibration Control

Dampening mounts throughout the system help reduce vibration that could disturb long-term wine storage.

Simple Through-the-Wall Installation

No plumbing, complicated wiring, or on-site refrigerant installation is required when installed according to manufacturer guidelines.

Optional Breezaire Bottle Probe

The Breezaire Bottle Probe can be used on all Breezaire WKL models. It is designed for users who want the cooling system to control operation based on liquid temperature inside a bottle rather than the surrounding cellar air temperature.

Breezaire wine cellar cooling unit bottle probe

How the Bottle Probe Works

Allow the wine cellar enclosure to stabilize at the desired temperature for several days, approximately 72 hours. Fill a normal-size wine bottle with water, insert the bottle probe into the bottle, and place it in the cellar. Do not connect the bottle probe to the cooling unit until the bottle has cooled to the cellar temperature.

Once connected to the outlet on the face of the unit, the bottle probe controls unit operation based on the liquid temperature inside the bottle. Unplugging the probe returns the system to the internal air sensor. The bottle probe cord is 5 feet long.

Expert Recommendation

The Breezaire WKL 4000 is a strong choice for medium-to-large residential wine cellars where a self-contained through-the-wall system is preferred. It is best suited for properly insulated cellars up to 1,000 cubic feet and for buyers who want reliable wine preservation without ductwork, plumbing, or split-system installation complexity.

Best Present!

I bought this wine cooling unit for my huge wine collection with expensive wines as a birthday present for myself. My wife wouldn't let me have anything alcoholic, so I got the next best thing. She didn't know what it was until I open the box in the garage. She was impressed with how quiet it was and how cold the wine was when she check it in our wine cellar room the next day. I have no regrets about this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wine cellar cooling unit for 1000 cu. ft. Thanks, Wine Coolers Empire for the Free Shipping with no sales tax. Highly recommended store for cooling units!

Replacement

Excellent direct replacement for the Breezaire WKE 4000 which worked faultlessly from 2016 until very recently.

Hello Hector,

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear that the unit has been a great replacement and that your previous Breezaire WKE 4000 served you well for so many years. If you ever need any assistance, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Great cooler

The first one I bought lasted 10 years, this last one (unfortunately) only lasted 5 years. When they stop you basically just have your throw it away (not worth trying to repair).

Hello Robert,

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear the first unit served you well for 10 years, though we understand the frustration of the second one lasting only five. While repair options can be limited, we appreciate your support and hope your new unit provides many years of reliable cooling. Let us know if we can assist in any way.

Best regards,

Great machine / long life

This Breezeaire replaces the same unit I purchased over 20 years ago. A good long life in a a 100+ case wine cellar.

Received it; yet to unpack as our old one is still struggling along.
Will let you kknow when we install it.
Thanks,
Alan Stallings

Easy out / easy in. Old unit died do to coolant leak in area unreachable for repair. Design flaw?? Unit was passed warranty period, so no help from manufacturer. WCE did great getting unit shipped to my installer.

WKL 4000 is extremely simple to set up.

I received the wine cooling unit that I ordered. It arrived in a very timely manner and was super easy to install. I will be ordering again from you guys.

Breezaire Wine Coolers

IT took a little longer to arrive than I expected, but it is here and working great. Seems reliable and was fairly easy to install. Hopefully it works for a long time.

Very reliable. My previous unit is also Breezaire and used it for almost a decade. It just retired and I got this one to replace it

I've been using my old Breezaire for about 9 years. It got burned down with my house last year and now I a new home. Hopefully this one will be as good as my previous unit. So far, so good.

breezaire is a breeze

This is my third Breezaire. The first was for my wine room in a new house in 1992..It lasted 12 years and the died. It was replaced by a second one which I brought to my new townhouse when we downsized( I built a wine room here as well).. The second one died after a power outage and I have replaced it with a new one. I love the Sentry III as well Easily place in the opening from the last one and all is working well again.

This cooler is really easy to install. No hassle. I even showed off to my wife and install it myself. Of course my son helped but I did most of the job. I am very happy with this cooler. Also, what makes even perfect is how quiet it is.

Very easy to install and operate

I like how quiet it is. My wife is a very light sleeper and if this product is noisy, she will probably kick me out of our house. Luckily, it doesn't make any noise.

Easy to use

This wine cellar cooling system is very easy to operate but very efficient, thank you!

Good cellar unit

These units are quiet and function with ease.
