WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit Review
Searching for a wine cooler unit that's easy to set up? WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 Wine Cooling Unit is the perfect solution for you!
NOTE:WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 is a direct replacement for WhisperKOOL SC 4000i and its predecessor, one of the most well-known cellar cooling units, the WhisperKOOL XLT 4200.
The WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 Wine Cellar Cooling System features the most advanced technologies and a new housing design. Developed and enhanced based on customer and installer feedback, and includes high-end components at an affordable price. This WhisperKOOL wine cellar cooling unit combines powerful airflow with quiet operation technology, making it the best option for efficiently cooling small wine cellars to medium-sized wine cellars.
SC PRO Series - WhisperKOOL Wine Cellar Cooling Systems are easy-to-install wine cellar cooling units (self-contained) that do not require a professional HVAC-R technician for installation.
The SC PRO series offers additional features that can be added on, such as a UV-C Lighting System which helps eliminate mold and bacterial growth in the cooling system, a Condenser Ducting Kit that allows for the safe and efficient venting of the unit, and an Exterior Grille to protect the exhaust side of the system. These options give you the flexibility to customize the unit to meet your specific needs and preferences
What makes the SC PRO Series different from the SC Series?
The WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 has a new, improved fan system that enhances performance and operates at a much lower noise level. Additionally, it includes a smart refrigerant metering and condensate management system that can evaporate up to 3oz. of water per hour, reducing the need for a drain line as an additional safety measure.

Features:
DIGITAL CONTROLLER The digital thermostat found on the front of the device comes with a feature called Advanced System Protection which includes alarms to notify you if certain conditions are not met.
BOTTLE PROBE WhisperKOOL wine cooling units accurately measure the temperature of wine in the cellar through the use of WhisperKOOL bottle probe or liquid temperature measuring probe. This method of measuring the temperature of a liquid is more precise and provides a more accurate reflection of the temperature of the wines stored in the cellar compared to measuring the temperature of the air in the cellar.
CENTRIFUGAL BLOWER The new SC PRO WhisperKOOL Cooling Units feature a revised fan system that provides powerful and direct airflow. This new fan design allows for even quieter operation and is meant to efficiently distribute conditioned air throughout the wine room.
CONDENSATE EVAPORATOR A new advanced condensate management system has been added to this WhisperKOOL Wine Cooling System, which can efficiently evaporate up to 3 ounces of condensate per hour of operation. This management system makes the drain line a secondary precautionary measure rather than a necessity.
POWER SUPPLY The unit can be powered from either the front or the rear, depending on your preference. The cooling unit can be plugged into a standard electrical outlet for power.

BTU/h
2253
The BTU/h value range shown here is an estimate and not a guarantee. There may be instances where a cellar design requires a larger unit due to variables not included in the calculation. These variables can be building materials (such as glass, stone, concrete, etc.) that do not provide enough insulation to maintain the ideal wine cellar environment.
We recommend purchasing a unit with a higher capacity to compensate for these unforeseen variables. Choosing an undersized unit may result in premature failure and may not be able to achieve your desired wine cellar temperature.

UV-C Light Technology
Adding UV-C Light Technology to WhisperKOOL wine cellar coolers enhances the overall indoor air quality inside the wine cellar and improves the system's performance. The UV-C light bulb inside the cooling system will protect it from mold and bacterial growth, extending the lifespan of the unit.
WhisperKOOL Exterior Grille for SC PRO Series
The SC PRO Exterior Housing Grille protects the exhaust side of the WhisperKOOL SC PRO Series from the outdoor elements. This SC PRO Exterior Housing Grille is a must-have if you're building a wine cellar and installing your cooling system through an exterior wall.
The purpose of this ducting kit is to redirect excess heat from the exhaust side of WhisperKOOL systems. It helps improve the overall performance of the cooling system by preventing the build-up of heat inside the wine cellar, ensuring that the desired temperature is maintained.
ThruWall™ Room to Room Fan
The ThruWall™ Room to Room Fan is designed to work seamlessly with WhisperKOOL Through-the-Wall Wine Cooling Units. It operates quietly and effectively moves heat from one room to another to balance the temperature between adjacent rooms.

SC PRO 4000
The purchase from Wine Coolers Empire was positive and the unit shipped fairly fast. Previously I had Cellar Cool which did not last very long. I really can not review my new unit as it is only a few weeks old. Ask me to review the unit after a few years.

It gets the job done.
My SC PRO 4000 is quietly performing exactly as expected. My last Whisperkool 4200 lasted 25 years. Pretty damn impressive. If my liver lasts another 25 years I’ll be very, very happy!

SC Pro 4000
My original WhisperKool unit failed after 20 years of reliable service. I replaced it with the SC 4000 Pro purchased from Wine Coolers Empire. They offered a coupon code that helped reduce the cost, and I received the unit within 5 days. Installation was a breeze because the new unit had the same dimensions as the original. It is a quiet machine compared to the old unit. I am very pleased with the performance and would recommend it to others.

Suprised
I wasn't expecting it to be this compact. To be honest, I was disappointed at first. But then when we started using it, it works. It is not too loud which was surprising. No vibrations which is great. I am a very happy customer.

Good service, unit works well -SC Pro 4000
Though the manual is a bit clunky, I installed the unit and it is working well, now cooling a 400cf outdoor cellar. Earlier, I had questions about shipping, the staff was helpful and fast. Good experience, thank you.

I used the sc version before and it was great. It still works after a few years but I have to move and needs a new one that can accommodate a wider cellar space. I researched sc series and came across sc pro. Apparently it is a newer and better version. It is working and distributes even cooling inside my cellar. Hopefully it will work for a few years as well.
