Breezaire WKSL Series 1000 cu. ft. Cooling Unit Wine Fridge WKSL 4000 Overview
WKSL 4000 is a direct replacement for WKS 4000.
Breezaire WKSL Series cooling systemsare special split systems that allow mounting of the cooling (evaporator) module in the enclosure to be cooled and the exhaust (condenser) module as far as 50 feet away. They are designed - when installing in a properly constructed enclosure - to provide a constant selectable temperature between 48°F and 63°F while maintaining 50% to 75% relative humidity.

Breezaire WKSL 4000 is designed for easy installation by any, properly equipped with compressor wine cooler system, qualified air conditioning, or refrigeration service technician. Two copper tubes connect the two modules and power is hard wired to the units using an adequately sized 110 AC volt electrical source. These Breezaire systems must be charged with refrigerant during installation. The WKSL series uses Breezaire's rugged adjustable mechanical thermostat.
HUMIDITY & INSTALLATION: By the nature of their operation, Breezaire wine cellar cooling units will maintain a stable humidity level, lower than the relative ambient humidity. In situations where the ambient humidity is high, the compressor wine cooler unit will lower the humidity to desirable storage levels. In situations where the ambient relative humidity is very low, the desired enclosure relative humidity may not be achieved without adding moisture. To add moisture to the enclosure only use slow, natural evaporation from a small porous water container. Do not use a humidifier.
TEMPERATURE & INSTALLATION: These wine cellar cooling units are designed to cool 25° less than the ambient temperature of the venting side of the unit. In some cases, improper placement or installation may cause the unit's performance to be degraded. The condensing unit must have a constant supply of fresh air, less than 85°F. If the condensing unit is located in a confined area with poor ventilation, the unit will not be able to reject the heat it is removing from the enclosure and a malfunctioning unit will be suspected, even though the unit is mechanically sound. Adjustable Temperature-Breezaire wine cooler unit includes an adjustable thermostat. The ideal temperature for storing and aging wine is between 50°F and 60°F.
Automatic Humidity Control- Humidity must be present in the wine cellar to prevent cork and label deterioration. The gentle cooling action of the system maintains the relative humidity in the 50% to 75% range. (Additional moisture may be required in extremely dry climates.)

Bottle Probe (OPTIONAL)
BOTTLE PROBE (OPTIONAL)
The Breezaire Bottle Probe can be used on all models. The bottle probe is used when you want to control the temperature of the wine cellar according to the liquid in the bottles. When the bottle probe is plugged into the unit it will take place of the internal air sensor.
How to use the Bottle Probe:
Allow the enclosure to stabilize at the desired temperature for several days (72hours). Using a normal size wine bottle clean the bottle and then fill it with water insert the bottle probe into the bottle, and place it in the enclosure. Do not connect the bottle probe to the unit until the bottle has sufficient time to cool to the enclosure temperature (72 hours). Connect the bottle probe to the outlet located on the face of the unit. The on and off operation of the unit is now controlled by the temperature of the liquid in the bottle. The temperature displayed is that of the liquid in the bottle. Unplugging the bottle probe will return the unit to the internal air sensor and will be reading the wine cellar temperature. The bottle probe cord is 5’ long.

Works like a Champ
Replaced previous model 4000 with current system. Last unit lasted 15 years. Delivery took just over two weeks. Installer claimed previous unit was made a bit better and new unit required slightly different power lines. These things notwithstanding, the new unit has an easy to read and adjust digital display and has been working great since being installed two months ago.

I am happy that Breezaire updated their line. I got the previous model wks. I was very happy with that unit and used it for a long time. But my son told me we should update our unit so I looked for the same one but they are already replaced. Hopefully this is as good as the previous model.
