📚 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Choose a 1200 CFM range hood only if you use high-BTU gas ranges, indoor grilling, or wok cooking. Lower CFM units will not effectively remove smoke and grease from high-heat cooking.
Do not install a 1200 CFM hood in small or low-use kitchens. It will create excessive airflow and may require additional makeup air systems to function properly.
Most building codes require a makeup air system for hoods over 400 CFM. A 1200 CFM hood will not operate safely or efficiently without proper air replacement.
Do not use a 1200 CFM hood in ductless (recirculating) mode for heavy cooking. It will not remove heat, smoke, or grease effectively without proper ducted ventilation.
Use a 1200 CFM hood with large ranges (36–60 inches) or high-BTU burners. Smaller cooktops do not require this level of ventilation and will not benefit from the extra power.
High-CFM hoods produce more airflow noise at maximum speed. Choose models with variable speed controls or sound insulation to reduce noise during everyday cooking.
